Individual Therapy
Adults
Evidence Based Support
Individual therapy involves meeting one on one with a therapist to process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. Our therapists are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat all mental health conditions and have extensive experience helping clients navigate life transitions. LCS strives to create a safe and supportive environment and build strong therapeutic alliances with our clients.
Your therapist will help you identify psychological connections to your mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. At LCS, we take a “client centered” approach to treatment, which encourages self awareness and understanding, increases self esteem and confidence, and promotes independence. You and your therapist will discuss a variety of solutions, tools, and strategies and you will be empowered to choose the right option for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you meet with parents?
Our clinicians meet with parents for a parent meeting prior to seeing a child to gather background information. During the first session with a child, clinicians will initially invite both the parent and the child into their office to begin getting to know the child and family, review confidentiality, and discuss goals. This is an opportunity for parents to share their concerns with the clinician while their child is present and has the option to participate. After 5-10 minutes, the parent will return to the waiting room and clinician will meet one on one with the child to start building a therapeutic relationship. At the end of each session, the clinician may invite the parent to rejoin and review topics discussed and strategies, so that parents can help the child remember and practice tools. Parents can request to schedule parent meetings periodically if they would like to share additional information and/or receive general parenting feedback.

Our therapists work collaboratively with teens (and their parents, when appropriate) to support growth, healing, and communication.
Whether it’s school stress, anxiety, depression, or social challenges, we help teens gain tools to thrive now and into adulthood.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Confidentiality Work with Teens?
Confidentiality is key to a client feeling comfortable opening up and honestly sharing their thoughts and feelings. Due to confidentiality, clinicians will not share specific information that their child client shared with their parents. Clinicians will encourage open communication between the child client and their parents and assist in removing barriers to communication in the parent child relationship. Clinicians are able to provide informed support and guidance to parents through parent feedback.
