BACKGROUND: I have experience working in both public mental health facilities as well as private practice. Prior to my career as a therapist, I gained experience in church leadership, residential treatment facilities, youth mentorship and various blue collar jobs. I believe my diverse background has not only shaped me as a person but also as a therapist by giving me the ability to understand my clients on a personal level and relate to a variety of perspectives and experiences my clients may bring into the office.
Because I work with clients who have both been to therapy in the past, as well as clients starting therapy for the very first time, I focuse on building a good rapport with clients from the beginning of the therapeutic relationship. Therapy is hard work, but it is important work. I am grateful to be able to work with so many amazing people and use my experiences (both personally and professionally) to come alongside my clients and help them unpack these issues in a way that hopefully leads to an increased confidence in self, the ability to recognize patterns in one’s life, and development of skills to create and sustain healthy boundaries and habits.
Outside of the office I enjoy disc golfing, visiting local coffee shops, breweries and restaurants, cheering for the Buffalo Bills during football season and spending time with my wife and our three kitties and puppy.
