BACKGROUND:
I have over ten years of experience working with pre-teens, adolescents, adults, and families. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and have worked in various therapeutic settings, including community-based support program for adults, adolescent residential programs, and most recently with children in an inpatient acute hospital setting. I have a passion for working with tweens, teens, adults and their families that are in distress and supporting them in improving their family dynamics and functioning.
I utilize evidence-based techniques to address concerns such as depression, anxiety, mood instability, anger, social skills, self-esteem, stress management, school refusal, family conflict, and trauma. Years of training and practice help me challenge my clients to dismantle the negative thoughts that are keeping them from being who they want to be, manage their anxiety and develop healthy boundaries.
I’m here to support and listen as well as to help you learn strategies to manage life on life’s terms and find joy in daily living. Together we will take a deep breath and unpack what is going on that has made life so difficult. Join me and take the steps to feel better and reconnect with those you care about.
I will be offering EMDR beginning in November of 2024.
I also provide clinical supervision for individuals with an MSW interested in attaining licensure in the state of Virginia.
